Isinya Piling Project

The project involved construction of a boundary wall of 2.4m high and 544m long, located in Isinya kajiado county where black cotton soil dominates the area. The conventional way of constructing the wall on strip footing was very expensive and piling was adopted.
Columns were piled at 3m centers to the hard stratum which was found at 3.8m deep onto which transfer beam were built at the ground level.
A wall of 2.4 m was placed on the transfer beam braced at 3m by the piled columns at the end.
The project cost reduced substatially due to adoption to piling.
