Cold Stores For Avocado Storage

Somers appointed Inspira Farms to design and build cold storage facilities for Avocados. The works included earth works, site clearing and grading, construction of substructure and the superstructure.

Somers proposed the use of the prestressed beams and use of Styrofoam materials as the infill to provide insulation of the cold store. Once the prestressed were laid with the Styrofoam a 100mm concrete topping was done to receive a terrazzo finish to the slab. The project was completed by erecting the prefabricated panels imported by the client.
